DPC Family Physician - Lantern Health

Announcement: Lantern Health, a direct primary care (DPC) practice, is seeking a physician partner(s) to join our effort in the Belmont, NC community in the greater Charlotte area.

Further, we are an independent, physician-owned organization with plans to convert the business into an employee-owned trust, a legal structure that ensures Lantern is owned and controlled indefinitely for the benefit of its employees and mission to serve clients as the bottom line. 

DPC is a model where clients pay an upfront membership fee for primary care and through this addresses most pain points seen with traditional, fee-for-service primary care by re-emphasizing relationship-based care, allowing longer and less rushed appointments, bringing predictability and transparency to the cost of care, facilitating a sustainable work-life balance, and incentivizing us to keep our clients as healthy as possible. We care for clients of all ages and varying socioeconomic levels.

Our team includes physicians, nurses, and health coaches, together offering comprehensive primary care, both in-person and virtually through a privacy-protected app that gives our clients text, phone, and video access to the team. We are focused on cultivating a great experience for our team and our clients.

The opportunity in Belmont is a tremendous one to begin with a full panel and salary for at least one physician (Family Medicine preferred), as a retiring DPC family physician transitions his successful practice of 10 years into Lantern Health given his alignment with our vision, values, and long-term plan. Location: 100 N. Main St, Suite 150, Belmont, NC 28012 

Hours: 4 day work week (1.0 FTE) with 8:30a-5p work day and day off to be determined or 3 full days (8:30a-5p) and 2 half-days (8:30a-12:30p); average 8-10 appointments per day + asynchronous messaging 

Benefits:        

Health: Direct Primary Care membership + Sedera Health Medical Cost Sharing coverage for employee, access for spouse/domestic partner and dependents

Vacation/Sick: 20 days per year (note 4 days off = full week off)

Holiday: 7 days per year

Continuing Education/CME: 3 days and $500 stipend per year; coverage of NCMB, AAFP/NCAFP, and DEA dues

Retirement: 401k with 4% match after 90 days
